November President's Message
Dear IAF Members and Industry Friends,
I am happy to report that as I write this, we have seen IAF’s new training offerings pick up significant traction! Month after month, we have more members enrolling their teams in our professional development classes for new technician and other team members new to the industry. Please check them, you will be impressed with the variety and cost effectiveness of our Course Catalog. Our Education Committee has spent countless hours developing and deploying the full portfolio of over 60 hours of training that we now offer beyond BASA/FASA. Keep your eyes out, there will be more classes released in the next few months.
On the Legislative front, everything seems to indicate that our Legislative Committee will be extremely busy in 2026 (I must sound like a broken record lately).
And nothing helps solve political problems like a PAC with cash. To that end, we are proud to announce that a date of Saturday April 18th, 2026 has been finalized for our Spring Clay Shoot. By popular demand, we will be returning to Blackjack Sporting Clays in Sumterville, FL. Because this will be the 2nd Annual Florida AlarmPAC Clay Shoot, we expect to have a much larger turn out. This event will not only inject much needed funds into our Alarm PAC war-chest, but it will also be an amazing networking and TEAM Building opportunity. Please SAVE the date!
Now onto some personal comments. Nothing rings in the beginning of the Holiday Season better than the preparations for Thanksgiving. As we speak, Holiday lights are going up all over our Great State, meal preparations are in the works, and we are starting to pen the naughty and nice lists. Thanksgiving brings to mind a lot of things, like Football, Black Friday Deals, and of course, eating way to much yummy food. But let us not forget the TRUE meaning of this Holiday, which is to give thanks to our Creator. When the pilgrims decided to give thanks, they were literally giving thanks for being alive! They were giving thanks because they had survived the harsh conditions that the new world presented. As we prepare to enter the Holiday Season and bring 2025 to an end, I will use this slower time of year to do a lot of reflecting. Have I given thanks enough? How have I demonstrated my gratitude? Have I served others enough? Our fast pace lifestyles make It easy to take our blessings for granted. Let’s slow down, look around and enjoy what we have. And of course, be grateful. Happy Thanksgiving to the IAF Family.
