August President's Message
Dear IAF Members and Industry Friends,
As the sun sets on the summer of 2025, we will once again be dealing with school traffic and regular family routines. While it saddens me to say goodbye to my favorite time of year, I find solace in knowing that football and cooler temperatures are right around the corner.
Speaking of Fall, the IAF Team has been putting together the plans for the Fall Road Show, which will be our greatest yet. For starters, we will be showing some love to the Northeast part of our state, kicking things off in Jacksonville. We will then work our way to the state Capital, Tallahassee. While in Tallahassee, we have planned outreach meetings with State Agencies / Regulators. Afterwards, we will proceed to stop off at all of our other regions. The tour will cap things off in my favorite town, Miami.
The South meeting in Miami will also have dual purposes, because we have planned to host a special event before our meeting. The IAF has put together a town hall with four local Fire Departments to discuss everything BDA (ERCES). BDA Systems have presented lots of opportunities for our industry, but have also generated lots of questions. Because this meeting will be held on September the 11th, we have selected a special location, and will host both events at the Miami-Dade Fire Department’s Union Hall. This event will be very informative for anyone who works with, or is interested in working on the BDA systems.
Last but not least, I encourage all members to keep an eye on AlarmAcademy.org, as our course offerings continue to grow. You’ve been asking for this, and we keep delivering! We have dedicated a lot of resources to continue to increase our course offerings, and have developed one of the best training resource centers for our industry. I am very proud of all the time and effort that the IAF volunteers and staff have dedicated to continue to build out the offerings at Alarm Academy.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the Road!
Raising the Bar - One Achievement at a Time,
