March President's Message
Dear IAF Members and Industry Friends,
By the time you read this, your clocks have sprung forward, and we should start to feel a little change in the weather. I can’t believe the first month of my tenure is in the rear view mirror, as the time is certainly going fast.
Up in Tallahassee, our State’s Legislative session is in full swing, and we are tracking over 34 bills that impact our Industry. Because of the pace at which things are moving, our Legislative Committee is meeting on a weekly basis, and sending our membership at large a weekly update bulletin.
On a related front, this April we will host our first ever fundraiser specifically for the Florida AlarmPAC. The event will be a Clay Shoot on Saturday, April 26th. It will take place at Blackjack Sporting clays in Sumterville, Florida, conveniently located in the central part of the state. This team building and networking opportunity for our members will specifically raise funds to allow us to better advocate for our Industry.
On the education front, we have released a few new classes, and as promised to our membership, there will be more coming real soon. We are also excited to announce a training partnership with the Associations in Georgia and Connecticut. Both of those state associations recognized the value of the training offerings we have developed for the industry.
Lastly, Spring also brings us to our Regional meetings, all dates and locations have been set, please don’t miss a great opportunity to meet with colleagues, vendors and other Industry friends. These meetings are the essence of our Association, it is where we can all stop being competitors for a little while, break bread, laugh a little and help our industry evolve forward.
Until next month!
Raising the Bar - One Achievement at a Time,
Diego R. del Pino
